Special Education/Student Services

The Special Education Department provides educational services for students with identified disabilities. Students are served in a variety of programs according to their Individual Education Plans (IEPs). All schools in the District provide special education services in accordance with State and Federal Law.

  Sandi Reimer, Director of Special Education/Student Services, has worked in the San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District for seventeen years beginning in the fall of 1990. Most of that time has been spent on the high school campus in the Special Education Department. She has worked as a language specialist, a special day class teacher and a resource specialist. Sandi was the head of the Special Education Department for a number of years and was a member of the school leadership team.

  Sandi continues to be a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association. She also serves on the Special Education Council for the Special Education Local Planning Agency.

  Sandi holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Rehabilitative Medicine from the University of Alberta, as well as a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology and a Master’s Degree in Teacher Leadership, both attained from San Jose State University.
